Ruffled Feathers is currently home to 51 birds, from zebra finches to Moluccan cockatoo. In addition to parrots, it is also provides care to three pigeons, and a hand-raised starling.

The sanctuary was started and registered in Glendale, Arizona and relocated to New Ulm, Minnesota in 2018. Currently, it is a home-based, single-person operation. It is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) sanctuary, so any contributions are tax-deductable.

Our philosophy is that each bird should have a safe place to live with as few stressors as possible. Their environment should be interesting, within their comfort level.
